What to reasonably expect from your air conditioning

My Air Conditioner just doesn’t seem to cut it on those really hot days… What gives?

When it’s 100 degrees outside, what is a reasonable amount of cooling that I can expect from my Air Conditioner?

We get this question a lot! And the answer is not set in stone. the amount of cooling your air conditioner can do is limited by the following factors…

  • How much heat is transferred from outside your home to inside your home through insulation.
  • How much heat is transferred from outside your home to inside your home through gaps and leaks.
  • How much heat is transferred from outside your home to inside your home through radiant heat.
  • Amount of cooling your Air Conditioner was designed to do.
Typically however, you can expect to see about 20 degrees of cooling over the outdoor temp. So if it’s 100 degrees, you can expect your home to stay on average 80 degrees!
Is your Air Conditioning performing within those guidelines? If not, give us a call!
